Jo Reitze (Mrs. de Carteret) is a Fellow of The Victorian Artists’ Society, Past President of Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors and an award-winning artist.

She coordinated Art at Canterbury Girls’ S. C. for twenty years. During this time she, her colleagues and VCE students were fortunate to participate in CGS Art Camp.

In 2005, Jo Reitze Paints your Garden, (painting gardens commissions) was established. Her joyous, vibrant and expressive works in oils, gouache and pen celebrate the beauty of nature. In 2015 Jo was filmed painting at Cloudehill Gardens for Put Colour In Your Life. View on www.joreitzeartist.com.au The filmed painting was awarded MSWPS, Annie Davison Oliver Award in 2016. Other recent awards include MSWPS Danks Trust Award and Best Oil Bacchus Marsh Rotary. Last year she was a Finalist in the prestigious Len Fox Prize at Castlemaine Art Museum and this year in both Southern Buoy Studios Portrait and Landscape Prizes. Jo has exhibited widely including as invited artist at Whitehorse Artspace in 2013. Her latest solo show Celebrating Life in small works was held at Kinross Arts Centre, Toorak in February. Her postponed major exhibition, Celebrating Life in Gouache, Oil & Pen will be held at The Victorian Artists Society Galleries in July 2021. Reitze’s work is represented in Civic and private collections.
