Jo Reitze

Jo Reitze (Mrs. de Carteret) is a Fellow of The Victorian Artists’ Society, Past President of Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors and an award-winning artist.
She coordinated Art at Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College for twenty years. During that time she was delighted to participate with her VCE students and staff in the CGS Art Camp at Somers. In 2005 she established Jo Reitze Paints your Garden, painting gardens on commission. Her joyous and expressive works celebrate the beauty of nature. Last year her Retrospective Exhibition, ‘Celebrating Life in Oils, Gouache & Pen’ was held at the Victorian Artist’s Society Galleries. In 2021, her oil painting, ‘Geelong Conservatory’ was selected for the prestigious Geelong Contemporary Art Prize. Recently her work was shown in a curated group show, ‘Sage Advice’ at Whitehorse Artspace. Reitze’s work is represented in Civic Collections in Australia and in private collections Overseas.
